Alice in Dior

Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week has kicked off yesterday and Dior Wowed!

High profile designers from across the globe have descended on the French capital to showcase creations from their respective collections. Dior offered flamboyant fashion, feminine ruffles and exquisite hand made dresses.

Belgian designer Raf Simons, who replaced John Galliano as creative director for Dior in April, debuted his second Dior Couture collection yesterday.

For this collection he drew inspiration from classic fairytales and featured feminine designs that accentuated the silhouette. Dresses were nipped at the waist in opulent layers of silk and organza, while skirts were voluminous and extravagant.  Shades of blue and pale pink were embellished and embroidered but he made sure not to stray away from Dior's famous silk bustier and peplum shapes. The ready-to-wear collection offered contrast in the form of Matador trousers and tailored blazers and featured a colour palette of mint, burnt orange and aubergine.

The beautiful runway was an Alice in Wonderland theme which was made up of a maze of bushes. Enchanting!
