MFW so far

Now that NYFW and LFW are over we are embracing luxury and the beginning of a new season at MFW. MFW has barely begun and we are already seeing the likes of Gucci, Max Mara, Alberta Ferretti, EA and Prada come out in full force. It’s all go from the get go in Milan!

Gucci went back to basics for SS 2013 who knew bold, bright, block colours could be so effective in making a statement? I wonder which pieces the new face of Gucci, Blake Lively will put her paws on..We’ll just have to wait and look forward to a red carpet event, she’s one lucky lady!

Over at Alberta Ferretti a bevy of models walked out looking like beautiful elegant mermaids against a sea like backdrop. Another uber chic, super adore her creations designer Monique Lhuller also went for an underwater theme during NYFW. Get your notebooks out because this is one key trend for the new season.

At the Emporio Armani show it was metallic layer central, clean cut lines and chic draped silhouettes were immaculately tailored, what can we expect from the man himself..right?

Where Miuccia Prada steps, you'll see everyone else falling in line behind her. Prada’s new SS 2013 collection is a throwback to the 60’s flower power days with a twist of Geisha, if I had to sum up the collection in one sentence it would have to be - Orientalism made mod and tied up with an origami bow. Prada has reinterpreted the Japanese Geisha sandal complete with split-toe tabi sock, which she crafted from leather with a zipper up the back, suggesting they could be footwear in their own right. No one can ever tell her she is not one of the fashion world's most out-of-the-box thinkers.

Max Mara presented an earthy coloured collection teamed with experimental and patterned fabrics. This was one of my fav from MFW so far, I’m a big lover for all things experimental such as mixing leopard print with florals, plus I’m also a big fan of camo (now here a touch goes a long way) it adds a little bit of edge to any outfit and you know I love that JSuper adorbs this collection!
