Mary Franck

After seeing her one-off pieces I instantly got hooked and had to contact the designer myself. Mary Franck was kind enough to send over one of her new headpieces from her Autumn/Winter 2013-14 collection, for me to wear in my next outfit post (more on that later).  I am a sucker for headpieces, I intend to have a nice collection one day. I feel like another addiction is coming on....remember my shoe addiction? Now might be suffering from a hat addiction after seeing these beauties. God Help Me!

Mary Franck's pieces are unique and beautifully constructed, ranging from classic shapes to cutting-edge modernity, all in a neutral palette of black, purple, alabaster or gold. She combines traditional millinery fabrics and trimmings such as fur felt and feather with more unconventional materials such as wood, leather and snakeskin. Her hats are distinctive and eye-catching. Each piece is meticulously designed to make the wearer feel stylish as well as comfortable.

Established in July 2011, Mary is a young brand which won instant professional recognition. In July she was awarded 2nd prize in Hat Designer of the year 2012, competing against a strong field of designers. This international competition, with entries over 60 countries, is sponsored by The Hat Magazine and Premiere Classe.

Her studio, which is based in Central London is home to designing seasonal collections, working on private commissions, as well as collaborating with other creatives in the industry and on magazine features.
